Friday 9th November 2018 10am-Midday

This workshop is to help understand different paint pigments and their properties, such as their opacity, their position on the colour wheel, and their ability to granulate and how to use this effect. It will look at how to mix colours as we perceive them in the natural world as well as understanding how different pigments can be combined to create interesting effects.

The workshop is based on using watercolours but could be applied to acrylics, and to a certain degree, oil colour.

Please bring a selection of watercolour paints, palettes and watercolour paper.

Abstacting the Landscape

Ocean Studios Maker’s Table,
Royal William Yard,
Plymouth

Friday 16th November 2018 10am-Midday
£35

This workshop will explore ways of abstracting the landscape using collage and drawing to look at elements such as lines, contours, masses, textures, hues and shapes within the landscape. Using abstraction, we shall look at these elements outside their context to create images that do not necessarily refer to reality.

Most materials will be supplied but please bring watercolour paint and palettes if possible.
